Starting Jan. 1, 2026, GLP-1 drugs used for weight loss only may no longer be covered by Medi-Cal. Some GLP-1 drugs may still be covered if they are used for health conditions other than only weight loss.

- Saxenda.
- Ozempic.
- Rybelsus.
- Mounjaro.
- Victoza.
- Byetta.
- Bydureon.
- Trulicity.
If a member is younger than 21 old and needs a GLP-1 drug for weight loss, it may continue to be covered. The member’s doctor or pharmacy provider must submit a prior authorization.
