Hispanic & Latino Heritage Month (September 15 – October 15) is a time to recognize the history, culture and contributions of Hispanic and Latino communities. Across California — and right here in Central California — there are many ways to join the celebration, learn and connect.

In your community

Here are just a few events happening this year in our region and beyond:

  • September 8 – Clovis Community College Celebration – Performances from the CCC Music Department and Folklorico Club, a Q&A hosted by the Latino Faculty and Staff Association and guest speaker Dolores Huerta.
  • September 13 Taco Fest (Monterey) – A pre-match party hosted by Monterey Bay Football Club. There will be live music, food and fun vibes.
  • September 16 – Merced College Events – A series of events honoring Hispanic & Latino Heritage Month.

There are also online opportunities to take part in, such as the Tech y Cultura event and film screenings like the Cesar Chavez Hispanic Heritage Month Film & History livestream.

Explore and learn

Hispanic & Latino Heritage Month is also a chance to learn more about the history and contributions that have shaped our communities. Here are some resources you can explore at home:

Celebrating together

At the Alliance, we’re proud to serve a diverse membership that includes many Hispanic and Latino families. This month is a reminder of the rich traditions, resilience and contributions that strengthen our communities every day.

We encourage you to join a celebration near you, explore a new resource or share stories with your family about what Hispanic & Latino Heritage Month means to you.
