Stay Safe During Emergencies

Emergencies like power outages, earthquakes and wildfires can happen anytime. We’re here to help you stay safe and get the care you need when it matters most.

This information will help you and your family stay safe in an emergency.

Know What Your Health Plan Covers

As an Alliance member, you often see doctors in our network. Sometimes, you might need to see doctors outside our network. This is called continuity of care.

If you can’t see your doctor or go to your pharmacy, we can help you find other choices near your place. Here’s what you can do:

  • Use our online Provider Directory to find doctors.
  • Call Member Services at 800-700-3874, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
  • If you need language assistance, call 800-735-2929 (TTY: Dial 711) for help in locating nearby care.
  • If you need non-emergency transportation (NEMT), call the Alliance at 800-700-3874, ext. 5640 (TTY: Dial 711), Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 to 4 p.m., at least 5 business days before your appointment.
  • If you need non-medical transportation (NMT), call the Alliance at 800-700-3874, ext. 5577 (TTY: Dial 711), Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., at least 5 to 7 business days before your appointment.
Emergency Care

If you have a medical emergency, please call 911 or go to the nearest hospital emergency department.

Members are advised to call their doctor should they have medical questions. In addition, the Alliance Nurse Advice Line is available to our members 24 hours a day, seven days a week. A registered nurse is ready to answer members’ health care questions and can connect members to a doctor. The Nurse Advice Line can be reached at 844-971-8907 or for the Hearing or Speech Assistance Line (TTY: Dial 711).

Non–Emergency Services: Call Member Services at 800-700-3874 Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for help with non-life-threatening issues.

Medication Help

During an emergency, you may be able to get your medicine early to make sure you don't run out.

Please contact your pharmacy about your prescriptions.

For Alliance Care IHSS members: Central California Alliance for Health has activated the emergency services to allow the appropriate submission clarification code to override certain denials for members displaced by the storms.

In addition to these emergency service overrides, the Alliance always allows a 5-day emergency supply for members. Pharmacies are to contact MedImpact at 800-788-2949 or enter submission clarification code to override certain denials.

Find a pharmacy with MedImpact:

  • Call 800-788-2949
  • Search online at https://thealliance.health/MedimpactLocator. We recommend members call the pharmacy to confirm.

For Medi-Cal members:
For urgent or emergency medication supply, pharmacies are to call Medi-Cal Rx at 800-977-2273. Or refer to Emergency Fill section in Medi-Cal Rx Provider Manual at https://medi-calrx.dhcs.ca.gov/home/provider-manual/.

Find a pharmacy with Medi-Cal Rx:

  • Call 800-977-2273
  • Search online at https://medi-calrx.dhcs.ca.gov/home/find-a-pharmacy. We recommend members call the pharmacy to confirm.
Finding Other Doctors

If you can't reach your doctor during an emergency, here's what to do:

  • Go to a hospital.
  • Find a community resource center.
  • Call 911 right away for urgent medical needs.

If you need to speak to someone at the Alliance, call our Member Services Department Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at 800-700-3874. For the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Assistance Line, call 800-735-2929 (TTY: Dial 711).

Stay in Touch

It’s important to keep your address and phone number up to date with the Alliance. That way, we can communicate with you about benefits, services and any important topics.  If we have your mobile phone number, we can send you text messages too unless you have opted out of receiving text messages from us. To opt back in to receive text messages, text START to 59849. For help, text HELP to 59849. You can also call Alliance Member Services at 800-700-3874. On the Alliance website, we will also provide information regarding any emergency declaration.
