Vaccination Lunch and Learn + enroll in DHCS trainings + changes to physician-administered drug benefit
Attend our upcoming Child & Adolescent Vaccinations Lunch and Learn!
The Alliance is hosting a virtual Child & Adolescent Vaccinations Lunch and Learn in collaboration with Merck & Co., Inc. We are excited to have Reena Gulati, MD, MPH from Merck & Co., Inc., who will present on building vaccine confidence and addressing vaccine hesitancy.
The event will take place Wednesday, July 10, 2024, from noon to 1p.m. Please register and find more information about the event on our provider event webpage.
Some topics that will be covered include:
- Vaccine confidence and how it can impact vaccination rates across populations.
- Common concerns underlying vaccine hesitancy and barriers regarding vaccination.
- Strategies to effectively communicate with and build vaccine confidence in vaccine-hesitant patients.
Alliance staff will share information on:
- Coding.
- Childhood Immunization Status (CIS) and Immunization for Adolescents (IMA) measures. These are Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS) measures. Please visit our HEDIS webpage for more information.
- School-based clinics.
Enroll in mandatory trainings for DHCS’s new portal systems
Effective July 1, 2024, the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) will launch new provider portals to improve access to coverage and care for new families as part of its Child Health and Disability Prevention Program (CHDP) Transition Plan. Visit our website to learn more about the CHDP plan.
DHCS requires providers seeking to participate in the CHDP Children’s Presumptive Eligibility (CPE) program and the Newborn Gateway Presumptive Eligibility (NGPE) to attend or watch mandatory online trainings.
To meet DHCS requirements, please:
- Enroll in the next training session, which is on June 25, 2024, at 10 a.m. To enroll, please log in to the Medi-Cal Learning Portal (MLP) and search CPE or NGPE.
- If you are unable to attend the training session, please log in to the MLP and search “CPE” and “NGPE” to find the recorded trainings.
- These trainings are for informational purposes only and not for certification to meet eligibility determinations. After you complete this these trainings, please contact the MLP administrator to receive further instructions to acquire the certification you need. Physician-administered drug benefit changes starting June 1
Effective June 1, 2024, the Alliance will be implementing changes to the physician-administered drug benefit. These changes have been reviewed and approved by the Pharmacy & Therapeutics (P&T) Committee. The changes are below.
