Scotts Valley, Calif., March 30, 2023 — Central California Alliance for Health (the Alliance) is pleased to announce Marwan Kanafani, MBA, MPH as the Alliance’s new Health Services Officer (HSO). In this senior-level role, Kanafani will oversee operations of the Health Services Division. This role supports the organization’s strategic priority to achieve health equity among its members by addressing gaps and disparities in care, with the ultimate goal of improving health outcomes.
Prior to joining the Alliance, Kanafani held the positions of Senior Director of Provider Partnerships at Blue Shield of California and Director of Health Services Operations at Health Plan of San Mateo. Kanafani comes to the role with significant experience in Medi-Cal managed health care, including addressing social determinants of health and health disparities. Kanafani holds an MBA in Health Sector Management from Boston University’s Questrom School of Business and a Master’s in Public Health, Health Policy and Management from Boston University’s School of Public Health.
