Get Care
If you qualify for Medi-Cal, you can get care from Central California Alliance for Health (the Alliance). The Alliance covers most of the health care services that you might need. This includes the main services listed below. For more details, view the online Member Handbook or contact Member Services to have a printed copy sent to you in the mail.
Questions about changes to Medi-Cal coverage?
For information about your Medi-Cal coverage, contact your county's Department of Social Services or Health Services Agency. If you have Medi-Cal, your county must tell you if there are any changes to your coverage. Learn more on our FAQ webpage.
Primary Care includes preventive care to help you stay healthy and medical help when you are sick. Your primary care provider (PCP) is your main doctor who can help you get the services you need. Learn more about how to select and work with your PCP on the Primary Care page.
To understand the approval process and how to get services that are covered by your plan, go to the Approvals for Care page.
If you have questions about your health and need help with what to do next, call the Nurse Advice Line 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to talk to a registered nurse.
You can find information on how to manage and fill prescriptions on the Prescriptions page.
If you are having a life-threatening emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
If you have an urgent medical need that is not life threatening but you need care within 48 hours to prevent a serious illness or injury, call your PCP, the Alliance Nurse Advice Line or Member Services to learn where to go.
For more information on the difference between emergency and urgent care, go to the Urgent Care page. If you are still not sure, call the Nurse Advice Line.
You do not need approval from the Alliance to get emergency or urgent care.
Getting care does not have to be complicated. Our care management services make it easier to get help with things like appointments, medications and transportation. Learn more on our Get extra help with Care Management page.
Your health plan covers mental health and substance use disorder services. For more information, go to the Behavioral Health page.
Transportation services are offered to members who need help getting to and from medical appointments or picking up prescriptions. Learn more on our Transportation Services page.
The Alliance offers services to eligible members through two programs called Enhanced Care Management (ECM) and Community Supports. These services help people with complex health issues and people who need help setting up their medical care.
