Have you and your family had the new COVID-19 vaccine yet? If you are an Alliance member, you can get this vaccine to help protect you from the Omicron XBB1.5 variant.

Protect yourself this season

This fall and winter, flu and COVID-19 rates are expected to go up. Don’t take any chances. Make sure you are up to date on your vaccines for the best possible protection.

Do I need to get the updated COVID-19 vaccine?

Even if you have been vaccinated for COVID-19 before, the CDC recommends that you get the updated 2023-24 vaccine. Over time, your protection against serious COVID-19 illness can fade. The updated vaccine can help restore your protection and protect you more from current COVID-19 variants.

If you aren’t sure whether you need to get the updated COVID-19 vaccine, talk to your doctor!

Which COVID-19 vaccine(s) can I get?

CDC recommends the following 2023-24 COVID-19 vaccines:

  • Pfizer-BioNTech.
  • Moderna.
  • Novavax.

If you are not sure which one to get, talk to your doctor.

The COVID-19 vaccine is a covered Medi-Cal Rx benefit. You can learn more about your pharmacy benefits and Medi-Cal Rx on our prescriptions page.

How do I make an appointment to get my COVID-19 vaccine?

You can make an appointment to get your COVID-19 vaccine by visiting the vaccines.gov website. You can type in your zip code to find a location near you.

Not all locations offer vaccines for younger children. You may need to take your child to your doctor’s office.

Free at-home tests

You can request 4 free at-home COVID-19 tests for your household. Order the tests from the U.S. government. To order your tests, go to www.covid.gov/tests.
