Tan Nguyen, MD

Dr. Tan Nguyen is a clinical professor in family medicine and a dean’s scholar at University of California, Irvine School of Medicine. He serves as the director of medical education in the Department of Family Medicine and provides care for underserved patients at the federally qualified health center in Santa Ana and Anaheim.

Dr. Nguyen’s current research involves lung cancer screening, medical humanities and the psychological well-being of patients with metastatic cancers. He completed his training at Michigan State College of Human Medicine and his family medicine residency at University of California, Irvine.

Molly Black

Molly Black joined the American Cancer Society (ACS) in 2008 and has served in several roles addressing health disparities and increasing cancer screening and HPV vaccination rates. Black’s previous roles allowed her to support breast and cervical cancer early detection programs.

Black served as a national faculty member for ACS’ Cancer Screening QI coach training and has completed several trainings at the Institute for Health Care Improvement. Currently, she serves as the national director of cancer screening, providing subject matter expertise.

In 2018, Black developed a framework to increase colorectal cancer screenings with federally qualified health centers. This impactful model is used across the country and has increased colorectal, breast, cervical and lung cancer screenings and HPV vaccinations.
