The Alliance's Texting Terms and Conditions
- The Alliance’s Texting Terms and Conditions apply to you when you use Central California Alliance for Health (“the Alliance”) Wireless Text Message Services (the “Services”). If you use the Services, it means that you agree to accept these terms. The terms apply on the date you start using the Services (opt in). When you opt in, you will get text messages from the Alliance from the short code number 59849. The messages may be about things like:
- How to get care with the Alliance.
- Checkups and vaccines.
- Your Medi-Cal eligibility.
- Health education and wellness programs.
The number of times that messages are sent may change.
- These Terms and Conditions may change. The Alliance has the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time as allowed by law. Updates will apply when we post them to our website. You agree to review these Texting Terms and Conditions from time to time to make sure you are aware of any updates. If you keep using the Services, it means that you accept the updates.
- The Alliance or its service provider may end, change or suspend the Services or any part of the Services, for any reason. You can also end or suspend the Services at any time by texting the word “STOP” to 59849 or by emailing [email protected] to unsubscribe. To subscribe again, text START to 59849. For help, text HELP to 59849. You can also call Alliance Member Services at 800-700-3874.
- The Alliance does not charge for the Services, but message and data rates may apply.
- THE ALLIANCE PROVIDES THE SERVICES "AS IS" WITH NO WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. You may not be able to get the Services in all areas, at all times, or on all mobile providers. You agree that you will not hold the Alliance or our service providers liable for failed, delayed or misdirected delivery of any text message or information sent through the Services.
- UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WILL THE ALLIANCE OR ITS EMPLOYEES BE LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES THAT COME OUT OF OR ARE IN CONNECTION WITH THE USE OF THE SERVICES.
- Alliance text messages may be kept on record. This is only for auditing purposes.
- Please tell your county Medi-Cal office right away if your mobile number changes. We are not liable for any information shared by text if you do not update your mobile number. We suggest that you protect your mobile device(s) with passwords and set up encryption, if you can.
- Text messages may have protected health information (PHI). Since text messaging is unencrypted, there is a risk that this PHI could be captured or viewed by third parties, including others who access your device. When you choose to get text messages from us, you do it at your own risk. Once texted, your information may no longer be regulated under HIPAA’s Privacy Rule. You can read our Privacy Policy on our website.
- You must be at least 13 years old to be eligible to use the Services. However, if you are at least 13 years old but not yet 18, you may use the Services if, and only if, you have your parents' or guardians' prior permission. No one under age 13 may use the Services under any circumstances.
