Remind parents and caregivers to schedule their child’s checkups!

Community Icon

This spring, the Alliance is kicking off a campaign that aims to encourage parents and caregivers to schedule checkups for their children. In partnership with the Merced County Office of Education (MCOE), Mercy Medical Center and Mariposa County Health & Human Services Agency, the campaign strives to reinforce the importance of regular checkups for a child’s health.

This campaign also encourages parents to think of their child’s doctor as a partner in their child’s growth and development. Checkups are a perfect opportunity to ask questions, keep up with necessary vaccines and ensure a child’s health is on track.

Because doctor appointments can fill up quickly, parents are encouraged to call their child’s pediatrician right away to schedule a checkup.

This campaign supports our collective goal of health equity, a key part of which is to eliminate health disparities and achieve optimal outcomes for children and youth.

Alliance members may be able earn a Target gift card for getting a checkup. The Alliance’s Healthy Start program rewards members ages 0-21 for keeping current with vaccines and checkups.

The Alliance website provides additional information on the importance of regular checkups, and we also have flyers you can share with members. The Alliance, MCOE and Mercy Medical Center will host a press conference on April 4 in Merced to announce the campaign and promote routine health checkups for children.
