Protecting members from cervical cancer

Community Icon

Nearly all cases of cervical cancer can be prevented. The Alliance is committed to helping members prevent cervical cancer or detect it early, empowering them to take charge of their health. Help us share with members the resources we have available that can help prevent cervical cancer.

HPV vaccines

The Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine prevents more than 90% of cancers caused by HPV. Alliance members can get this vaccine at no cost!

The vaccine is available for everyone starting at age 9 and recommended for males and females through 26 years old. Unvaccinated adults aged 27 through 45 years can talk to their doctor to learn if the HPV vaccine is right for them.

Screenings

Women 21 to 65 years old should get regular cervical cancer screenings, even if they don’t have symptoms. These screenings can help catch concerns early, leading to early treatment which reduces the risk of cancer spreading.

Alliance members can get cervical cancer screenings at no cost from their primary care provider.

Online resources

We have a blog post for members with thorough information about what cervical cancer is and how to prevent it.

We appreciate your help sharing these resources!
