The Alliance is preparing for the end of the continuous coverage requirement, at which time California counties are required to resume the full Medi-Cal redetermination process. We are reaching out to Alliance members to let them know they need to update their county with any changes to their information.
Redetermination timeline
Starting in April, members will start receiving redetermination paperwork in the mail based on their current renewal month. To stay eligible for Medi-Cal, members must submit completed paperwork by the last day of their renewal month.
Redetermination communication campaign
Working with our partner counties, the Alliance is engaging with as many members as possible to limit the number of people falling off Medi-Cal. The Alliance is launching a media campaign to ensure members know what they need to do to keep their coverage. Members with a mobile phone number on file are receiving text reminders to update their contact information and complete the redetermination process.
Members can visit our Update your Medi-Cal page for more details on:
- What changes need to be reported to county offices and how to report them.
- How to qualify for Medi-Cal.
The Alliance has also created shareable flyers in English, Hmong and Spanish to let members know what next steps they may need to take.
