The Alliance is grateful for the work that our local food banks do to provide food for our members and communities. We recognize that our members must have access to nutritious food to support their health. That is why we are committed to supporting our local food banks in their efforts to address food insecurity across our service areas. Each year, the Alliance provides funding from its annual budget to all the food banks in our five-county service region. Those local food banks are:
- Merced County Food Bank (serving Mariposa and Merced counties).
- Food Bank for Monterey County.
- Community Food Bank of San Benito.
- Second Harvest Food Bank Santa Cruz County.

Additionally, Alliance staff create and participate in fundraisers that are dedicated to supporting these organizations. In 2025, we raised over $36,000 that was distributed across each of the food banks earlier this month. Endowments are also awarded through our Medi-Cal Capacity Grant Program to support various projects and emergency community response efforts.
We know that food banks consistently support the needs of their communities, and last year was no different. In November, our local food banks stepped up in a major way to assist families who did not get their CalFresh benefits due to the government shutdown. We would like to express our immense gratitude for their hard work and commitment to helping our members this year and every year.
