Medi-Cal renewals and updates: Where to refer members for support

In the face of ongoing changes to Medi-Cal eligibility and requirements, the Alliance is partnering with organizations in Mariposa, Merced, Monterey, San Benito and Santa Cruz counties to help members renew their coverage.

The Alliance continues to share broad messaging across media channels to:

  • Help members understand Medi-Cal changes.
  • Remind members to renew on time so they can see their doctor and get their medications.

Please join us in connecting Alliance Medi-Cal members to the support they need to keep their coverage.

Medi-Cal renewal partners

We have a list of organizations that provide no-cost assistance with Medi-Cal renewals on our website. The page includes organizations in all five counties we serve, along with office hours and languages offered. Please share this resource with the Medi-Cal members you serve.

Members may also visit the BenefitsCal website to check their Medi-Cal coverage status or renew their coverage online.

Medi-Cal coverage updates

  • Dental coverage changes are delayed until July 1, 2027: The California budget extends full dental benefits for adult Medi-Cal members. Medi-Cal Dental covers services for children and adults. As of July 1, 2027, Medi-Cal dental benefits will be limited for adult members with an unsatisfactory immigration status (UIS). However, most members will still get full dental benefits.
  • Six-month eligibility checks will begin March 1, 2027. Some Medi-Cal members will have their eligibility checked twice a year instead of once.

Learn more about upcoming Medi-Cal changes on the DHCS website.
