Help connect community members with food resources

Community Icon

Many local families are feeling the impact of rising food costs. Federal funding for November 2025 CalFresh benefits was delayed due to the federal shutdown. Now that the federal government shutdown has ended, CalFresh recipients should get their full benefits through November and the coming months. CalFresh benefits will automatically be added to EBT cards and can be used like normal. For updates, visit the California Department of Social Services website.

The Alliance and our community partners play a vital role in helping people access healthy food options. Together, we can help ensure that local families have access to nutritious meals.

How you can help

You can support families by sharing the following resources:

  • CalFresh: Encourage community members to apply for CalFresh. If they are already receiving benefits, it is important that CalFresh recipients continue to submit all required forms and paperwork to avoid future delays.
  • WIC: The WIC program serves eligible women, infants and children up to age 5. WIC offers benefits on a WIC Card to help families buy nutritious foods.
  • Local food banks: Many food banks in our counties offer fresh food and may be able to help families sign up for CalFresh.
  • 211: Families can call 211 or text their ZIP code to 898211 to find nearby food resources.

More information is available in our recent article for members, Food for the holidays: CalFresh and other resources. Please feel free to share this article with your audiences.

Every effort counts. Thank you for helping connect families to the food and care they need.
