Behavioral health care has moved to the Alliance
The Alliance will manage your behavioral health needs
Starting July 1, 2025, the Alliance will be handling these services instead, and we will work directly with you to coordinate behavioral health care. This means your mental health care will be managed along with your physical health care, making it easier for you to get the support you need. The goal is to give you complete and connected care for your overall health.
What you need to know
Before July 1, 2025, please call Carelon at 855-765-9700 (TTY: Dial 711), 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Starting July 1, 2025, you can call us (the Alliance) to get behavioral health care. We'll help you find the right doctor or therapist.
You can see a therapist or psychiatrist in our network without needing approval for most services. You can call Member Services at 800-700-3874, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
The Alliance will help with care for mild to moderate behavioral health needs, like:
- Therapy for anxiety or mild depression.
- Medication for behavioral health.
- Psychological testing (approval required).
- Routine checkups, taking care of ongoing health issues and alcohol use support.
Yes! If your doctor joins our network, you can keep seeing them. Even if they're not in our network, you might be able to keep seeing them for up to 12 months. We'll help you find a new doctor who can give you the care you need, if your current doctor is out of network.
We can help you get rides to your health care appointments. Just call our transportation service (Call the Car) at 833-244-1678 at least 5-7 days before your appointment.
County Mental Health Plans (MHPS) will continue to handle care for serious behavioral health needs like schizophrenia or eating disorders for Medi-Cal members. They give services such as:
- Crisis support and inpatient care.
- Programs like day treatment and case management.
- Help for substance use.
Call your county Mental Health Plan for support.
