We are excited to support the new Community Health Worker (CHW) Specialized Training Program offered by UC Merced University Extension in collaboration with the Merced County Public Health Department.
The online training aims to strengthen the core competencies and qualifications of CHWs, including those who serve the Medi-Cal population. The Alliance awarded nearly $800,000 to UC Merced Extension to make this scholarship opportunity available over the next three years.
Staff currently employed by Alliance-contracted providers within Mariposa or Merced counties are eligible for a scholarship that covers:
- The entire $895 cost of the certificate program.
- FREE access to the optional elective course valued at $95.
- Recognition at the annual commencement ceremony for both employee and employer.
