What is a checkup?

Checkups are regular visits to the doctor that are important to your health and the health of your family.

Checkups are a key part of health care for people of all ages, from babies to older adults.

Checkups for children

Checkups for children can help your child grow up strong and healthy. Checkups also help your child’s doctor find any health problems early.

By taking your child to their doctor, you can make sure your child gets vaccines and screenings at the right time. You can also earn rewards such as Target gift cards for completing your child’s vaccines and checkups.

Checkups for adults

Checkups give you the chance to discuss health concerns and get tests and screenings. You can also get caught up on adult vaccines.

Why are checkups important?

Checking in regularly with your doctor can help you build trust and good communication so you can get the most out of your health care.

Checkups can also help you:

  • Prevent disease.
  • Stay healthy.
  • Get medical advice.
  • Keep up to date with the vaccines and prescriptions that you need.

Your doctor can refer you or your child to Alliance Health and Wellness Programs that are open to you at no cost. You can get connected to programs for weight management, chronic conditions, prenatal and postpartum support, and more.

How do I make the most of a checkup appointment?

During a checkup, you can ask your doctor questions you may have about your health or your child’s health. Before your visit, you can write down questions for your doctor or notes about what you want to discuss. You can also take notes on what your doctor tells you so that you can look back on the information after your visit.

How do I schedule a checkup?

Call your doctor today to schedule an appointment.

You can find out who your doctor is by checking your Alliance Member ID card. You can also call Alliance Member Services at 800-700-3874 (TTY: Dial 711), Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
