Alliance member experience survey underway: What providers need to know
As part of the Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS) program, the Alliance is partnering with Press Ganey to conduct the annual Clinician and Group Member Experience Survey about care received within the last six months. Please be advised that Alliance members linked to your practice may receive a request to complete this survey from August through September.
The survey is sent to a random sample of members (for children, the survey is sent to their parents/guardians). The survey asks members to report on their personal experiences with their primary physician and linked PCP office. Topics include:
- Timely access to care.
- Provider communication.
- Coordination of care.
- Office customer service.
Members who receive a survey request may complete the survey via phone, mail or online. The Alliance uses survey data to inform quality improvement efforts and support our valued providers to deliver the highest quality of care to our members.
If you have any questions about the survey, please contact your Provider Relations Representative.
Supporting member health with the TotalCare flex card
The Alliance is committed to helping members access the everyday items they need to stay healthy. One way we do this is by offering a flexible spending card (flex card) for TotalCare (HMO D-SNP) members.
Providers play a key role in raising awareness of this benefit. By encouraging TotalCare members to use their flex cards, you can help address basic health needs, improve adherence to care plans and support patients’ overall wellbeing.
The flex card is a supplemental benefit designed to support health outside the doctor’s office. It functions like a preloaded gift card with a $100 quarterly allowance to purchase eligible over-the-counter (OTC) products.
OTC products can play an important role in preventive care and chronic condition management. There is a wide range of covered products, including:
- First aid supplies.
- Pain relievers.
- Cough and cold remedies.
- Vitamins.
- Incontinence supplies.
- Dental, eye and ear care products.
Members can shop online or by phone for home delivery. Members can also shop in store to purchase covered products at participating retailers such as Safeway, Walgreens, Walmart, CVS1 and Costco. A mobile app is available to help members check their flex card balance, scan items for eligibility, locate nearby stores and review past transactions.
Learn more on our flex card webpage.
