Clinical Practice Guidelines
The Alliance uses Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPGs) to support informed decision-making and ensure consistent, evidence-based medical and behavioral health care. Tailored to the needs of the population served, CPGs guide providers in managing chronic conditions, behavioral health, and preventive services. While clinical judgment may override guidelines when appropriate, CPGs are reviewed annually and updated as needed based on new evidence or standards. They are developed from recognized sources or informed by board-certified specialists through committees like the Physician Advisory Group (PAG), P&T, and QIHEC. In the absence of established guidelines, the PAG helps develop clinically appropriate recommendations. CPGs are available on the Alliance website and shared through newsletters, the Provider Portal, and orientation materials.
