Flu season is here! Know where to go when you feel sick.

Flu cases are going up, and you should know where to get help if you or your family don’t feel well. If you feel sick, always try calling your doctor first. They know your health best and can give you the right care. Your doctor’s phone number is on your Alliance Member ID Card. If you can’t find it, call Alliance Member Services at 800-700-3874 (TTY: 800-735-2929 or 711).

If you can’t reach your doctor or need help after hours, the Nurse Advice Line and Urgent Care are ready to help you.

When to call the Nurse Advice Line

You can call the Nurse Advice Line anytime, day or night! Nurses can answer your health questions and tell you what to do next.

Call 844-971-8907 (TTY: Dial 711) if you have:

  • Flu-like symptoms and need help.
  • Worries about a child’s fever or cough.
  • Questions about medicines or how to care for yourself at home.

The Nurse Advice Line is an easy way to get help without leaving your house.

When to go to urgent care

Urgent care is for when you need fast care for things that aren’t emergencies. It’s often quicker than going to the emergency room (ER).

Here are some common reasons to get urgent care:

  • Fevers, colds or flu symptoms.
  • Upset stomach, throwing up or diarrhea.
  • Small cuts, scrapes or minor breaks in bones.
  • Pain when you pee or other non-emergency things.

Urgent care can handle these issues fast, so you can start feeling better.

When to go to the emergency room (ER)

The ER is for serious things like trouble breathing, chest pain or big wounds. If you or someone you know has a life-threatening problem, go to the ER right away or call 911. For everything else, try the Nurse Advice Line or Urgent Care first.
