Starting July 1, 2023, new populations of focus became eligible for Enhanced Care Management (ECM) services, a key Med-Cal benefit through CalAIM. We are also sharing some updates for ECM and Community Supports (CS).
New populations of focus
Children and youth may receive ECM services if they meet any of the following criteria:
- Have complex health issues and were admitted to the ED or hospital repeatedly over the last six months to year.
- Have serious emotional or mental health conditions.
- Already receive services through the California Children’s Services (CCS)/CCS Whole Child Model (WCM) and have additional needs.
- Are or have been part of a child welfare program or foster care.
- Are experiencing homelessness (continuation from initial Jan. 2022 launch)
Additional updates for ECM and CS
New CS services:
- Respite Service for Caregivers.
- Personal Care and Homemaker Services.
