Changes to Medi-Cal are coming soon. We're here to help.
Changes to Medi-Cal are coming in January 2026.
Most members will not see changes to their coverage. However, some members may see changes to their benefits and care. Act now to protect your coverage and make sure you get the care and benefits you need.
If you already have full-scope Medi-Cal coverage:
Make sure to renew your Medi-Cal on time!
If you do not renew your Medi-Cal before your renewal deadline, you will lose your benefits. Keep your information updated with your county Medi-Cal office, including your address, so you can get your renewal form in the mail. To keep your coverage, complete your renewal each time it is due
How to renew
You should get a renewal form mailed to you in a yellow envelope from your county Medi-Cal office. Please fill out the form and return it to your county office by the deadline.
More renewal options
If you don’t get a yellow envelope in the mail, you can also renew your Medi-Cal by:
- Using the BenefitsCal website.
- Contacting your local county Medi-Cal office to renew by mail, phone or in person.
If you are not sure about your renewal deadline, you can log in to BenefitsCal to find out when your renewal is due.
Apply before the end of 2025!
You can get access to full-scope Medi-Cal benefits if you are currently eligible, even with the upcoming changes.
How to apply
You may apply online at BenefitsCal or contact your local county Medi-Cal office to apply by mail, phone or in person. If you apply on or before Dec. 31, 2025, you will qualify for Medi-Cal as long as you meet the current 2025 requirements.
Are you unsure if you might qualify for Medi-Cal?
You can use the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) online tool to see whether you might qualify. It’s quick and easy! Note that you need to fill out a full Medi-Cal application to find out for sure.
