Merced County back to school vaccine clinics this weekend

Let’s help children start the school year strong! This Saturday, Aug. 6, Merced County parents and caregivers can get their children’s vaccines completed before the school year.

  • Required immunizations: Children entering transitional kindergarten, kindergarten and seventh grade need to get certain immunizations before they start the school year.
  • COVID-19 vaccines: Getting children vaccinated against COVID-19 is the best way to protect them from getting sick and missing school days due to COVID-19 infection. Children 6 months and older can get the vaccine.

The following events are free to attend:

Vaccine Clinic at Golden Valley Health Centers

Saturday, Aug. 6
9 a.m.-2 p.m.

847 West Childs Avenue, Merced, CA 95341

Get your child caught up on required immunizations before the school year. To learn more about which vaccines are required, check out the immunization schedule on the CDC website .

The Merced County Public Health Clinic is also open during the week for immunizations. Check their clinic schedule for more details.

Back to School Event at Castle Family Health Centers

Saturday, Aug. 6
9 a.m.-12 p.m.

3605 Hospital Road, Atwater, CA 95301

This event includes:

  • COVID-19 vaccines.
  • Free backpacks.
  • Free food boxes.
  • Sports physicals and well-child physicals.
