Care can’t wait: Help members prepare for flu season

Community Icon

Flu season is here, and community organizations can help Alliance members take steps to care for their health before they get sick.

Getting a flu vaccine can lower a person’s chance of getting or spreading the flu. If they still get the flu, the vaccine may help them get less sick.

Encourage members to get vaccinated

Alliance members can get a flu vaccine at no cost. Encourage members to make an appointment with their doctor or visit a walk-in location, such as their county’s public health department or a local pharmacy.

Everyone 6 months and older can get vaccinated unless their doctor recommends otherwise. Children under age 3 need to get vaccinated at their doctor’s office. Alliance members ages 7-24 months who get their two flu vaccine doses between September and May will be entered into a monthly raffle for a $100 Target gift card.

Help spread the word

Community organizations can help spread the word by reminding families that taking care of their health now can help them stay healthier throughout flu season. Download and share our Care can’t wait flu flyers with the people you serve. Flyers are available in English, Spanish and Hmong.

You can also direct Alliance members to our flu webpage to learn more about the flu vaccine and where to get vaccinated.
