Well-Child Visits
As your child grows, it’s important for them to go to the doctor for their well-child visits. During a well-child visit, your child can get their Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnostic and Treatment (EPSDT) services. Well-child visits should happen at least once a year, even when your child is not sick.
If you are a member, the Alliance will mail you information about EPDST services, regular doctor visits and routine screenings. This is to help make sure your child gets the best care at the right time.
To make an appointment for your child, call your child’s doctor.
Health and Wellness Reward
Every time your child completes a well-child visit in the first 15 months, they will be entered into a monthly raffle for the chance to win a $25 Target gift card.
When your child completes 6 or more well-child visits before 15 months of age, they will get entered into a yearly raffle for the chance to win a $150 Target gift card.
For more information about rewards, visit our Health and Wellness Rewards page.
Who can get EPSDT services?
Alliance Medi-Cal members from birth through age 21.
Why are EPSDT services important for my child?
These services will:
- Help prevent your child from getting sick.
- Help your child’s PCP find health problems early.
- Keep track of your child’s development.
- Make sure your child receives vaccines and screenings at the right time.
What if I have questions about my child’s health outside of doctor office hours?
If your child is sick and you can’t make it to the doctor, call the Nurse Advice Line. A registered nurse will help you with what to do next. The service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at no cost to you.
Call 844-971-8907 (TTY: Dial 711).
If you have your Alliance Member ID card with you, have it ready to tell the nurse your ID number.
